Extended Warranty Terms
1. Provider of the extended warranty
The provider of the extended warranty is DIESELCONTROL s.r.o.
2. What the extended warranty is
The extended warranty is a voluntary paid service provided beyond the buyer’s statutory rights arising from liability for defects.
This extended warranty does not limit or replace the buyer’s statutory rights against the seller.
3. Duration
If the service “1-year warranty extension” has been purchased for a product, the seller provides the buyer with an extended warranty so that the total coverage period is 36 months from the date of receipt of the goods, unless otherwise stated for a specific product.
The extended warranty applies after the end of the statutory 24-month liability period for defects, i.e. generally from the 25th to the 36th month from receipt of the goods.
4. Products covered
The extended warranty applies only to products for which this service was expressly purchased at the time of ordering and is stated in the order, tax document, or warranty confirmation.
5. Scope of the extended warranty
The extended warranty covers defects in material or workmanship that appear during normal and professionally correct use of the product in accordance with its intended purpose and installation and service instructions.
6. Remedy under the extended warranty
In the event of a recognized claim under the extended warranty, the provider may, at its discretion:
- repair the product free of charge, or
- supply a replacement product or a functionally equivalent part, or
- provide an appropriate discount, or
- refund the price paid for the claimed product.
The choice of remedy is at the provider’s discretion, taking into account the nature of the defect, the availability of the part, and the economic reasonableness of the solution.
7. Exclusions from the extended warranty
The extended warranty does not cover, in particular:
- normal wear and tear of the product,
- defects or damage caused by improper installation, unprofessional intervention, improper commissioning, or use contrary to the intended purpose,
- defects or damage caused by failure to follow installation, service, or operating instructions,
- defects or damage caused by a defect in another vehicle part or another part of the system with which the claimed product cooperates,
- defects or damage caused by the use of unsuitable, poor-quality, or contaminated fuel, unsuitable additives, or operating fluids,
- defects or damage caused by mechanical damage, collision, accident, fire, water, corrosion, overvoltage, short circuit, or any other external influence,
- defects or damage caused by modification of the product, tampering with seals, disassembly, or repair carried out by an unauthorized person.
8. Fuel system contamination
The extended warranty does not cover defects or damage arising as a result of dirt, impurities, or contamination in the fuel system.
Such cases include, in particular:
- metal particles,
- water in fuel,
- corrosion,
- paraffin, sludge, deposits, or other solid particles,
- biological contamination,
- misfuelling or degraded fuel.
The extended warranty also does not cover cases where, during installation or after a fuel system failure, proper inspection, cleaning, or repair of the related parts of the fuel system was not carried out, in particular the tank, lines, filtration, rail, pump, injectors, and other related components.
9. Additional exclusions specific to diesel components
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the extended warranty does not cover defects or damage resulting from:
- failure to replace the fuel filter during installation,
- failure to perform the required flushing or cleaning of the system after a previous failure,
- incorrect coding, adaptation, or setting of the part,
- defects in the vehicle’s electrical wiring, control unit, or sensors,
- use of the product in a vehicle for which it is not intended.
10. Conditions for making a claim under the extended warranty
When making a claim under the extended warranty, the buyer must provide:
- proof of purchase of the product,
- proof of purchase of the extended warranty,
- identification of the vehicle and the product,
- a description of the defect and the circumstances in which it occurred,
- upon request, also proof of professional installation, fuel filter replacement, fuel system cleaning, or other service documentation related to the claimed defect.
Failure to provide the required documents may result in rejection of the claim if compliance with the conditions of the extended warranty cannot be assessed without them.
11. How to make a claim
A claim under the extended warranty may be made by e-mail to info@diesel-control.cz, by phone at +420 777 904 042, or in person / by sending the product to the provider’s address.
The buyer is required to deliver the product clean, complete, and safely packed.
12. Assessment of the claim
The provider is entitled to professionally inspect, dismantle, diagnose, and assess the cause of the defect of the claimed product, including determining the presence of fuel system contamination or other external causes of damage.
13. Relation to the buyer’s statutory rights
This extended warranty is provided beyond the scope of the buyer’s statutory rights and does not limit them in any way.
The buyer’s rights arising from liability for defects within the statutory period remain unaffected.
14. Final provisions
These terms and conditions are effective as of [to be completed with date].
The current version of these terms and conditions is available on the seller’s website and is provided to the buyer in text form no later than upon receipt of the goods. In the case of a voluntary warranty, it is advisable to include the terms also in the warranty confirmation and to clearly state its scope and claim procedure before purchase.
